1. Who we are

JobEng is a jobs, hiring and business platform for engineering and construction, available as an app on iOS and Android and on the web at jobeng.ai and jobeng.co.uk. It is run by SESYSY LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 15828843), 28 Stillington Crescent, Hamilton, Leicester LE5 1BR ("JobEng", "we", "us"). We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Contact: info@sesysy.com.

2. Our two roles

Controller — for information about people who use JobEng for themselves: professionals and job seekers, students, people who sign up for an account, and visitors to our own websites.
Processor — for information that a business customer puts into JobEng about its own staff, applicants, clients, suppliers and projects. The business is the controller of that information and decides how it is used; we act on its instructions under our Data Processing Agreement. If you are an applicant or employee of a company that uses JobEng, that company is your first point of contact; we will help it answer you.

3. What we collect

We do not use advertising identifiers, do not track you across other apps or websites, and do not sell personal data.

4. Why we use it and our legal basis

Right-to-work and other special-category or criminal-record information is only processed when you or an employer add it for a lawful hiring or employment purpose, and only for that purpose.

5. AI in JobEng

Some features use artificial intelligence (AI) to help people work faster: scoring a CV against a job, suggesting interview questions, drafting job adverts, website text and documents, and reading scanned invoices.

A person makes hiring decisions. AI scores are suggestions for the recruiter. JobEng does not reject or shortlist applicants automatically.
What AI does not use: age, sex, ethnic origin, religion, disability, photos or other protected characteristics.
You can ask for a person to review your application, ask for a copy of your data, or object to AI-assisted review at jobeng.ai/jobs/privacy/request. The employer must answer within one month.
Who runs the AI: we send only the text needed for the task to the AI providers listed in section 6. They process it to return an answer. Google may use text sent to its free Gemini service to improve its products, so we use Gemini only as a backup when other providers are busy. We do not send AI providers budgets, bank details or client names from projects.

6. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the following, and only as needed:

The employer you apply to — your application, CV and answers.
Service providers (sub-processors): hosting and e-mail (Hostinger, UK); off-site backups (Backblaze B2); AI (Groq, US; Google Gemini, US; Anthropic, US; OpenRouter, US); payments (Stripe); push notifications (Expo, Apple, Google). The current list is kept at jobeng.ai/subprocessors.
Authorities when the law requires it.
A buyer of our business, under the same protections, if JobEng is sold.

7. International transfers

Our servers are in the United Kingdom. Some providers (for example the AI providers) process data in the United States. For those transfers we rely on the UK–US data bridge where the provider is certified, or on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.

8. How long we keep it

9. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, to restrict or object to how it is used, and not to be subject to a decision based only on automated processing. Delete your account any time in Settings → Delete account. For anything else e-mail info@sesysy.com, or, if you applied for a job, use jobeng.ai/jobs/privacy/request. We answer within one month. If you are unhappy, you can complain to the ICO.

10. Security

We use HTTPS for all traffic, store passwords hashed, check every request against a signed-in session, keep each company's data separate, back up daily and limit staff access. If a breach puts your rights at risk, we will tell you and the ICO as the law requires.

11. Children

JobEng is for people aged 16 and over. Learning features for students are for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from younger children.

12. Changes

We will post changes here and update the date at the top. For significant changes we will tell you in the app or by e-mail.
